Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016) Trailer 1

One of the hallmarks for any good movie is whether or not I watch again. I realize that this standard probably doesn’t apply universally, but it works for me. So when I saw the first Jack Reacher back in 2012, I thought it was competent, but not something I would revisit. But when it was released on Netflix, I found myself watching it over and over again. Granted, that may have something to do with Netflix’s limited selection, but I’d like to think that it has more to do with how well the film is made. From beginning to end, the film is very tight and has great pacing, especially for a film adaptation of a book. And the car chase scene in the middle of the film is one of the best I’ve seen. Jack Reacher reminded me of just how much trust Tom Cruise fosters in me whenever I watch one of his films. He rarely puts out a product that I don’t enjoy.

So I was delighted when I saw that Jack Reacher: Never Go Back was scheduled for this October. He looks as unstoppable as ever, which is probably why I didn’t immediately love the first film, but, now that I know the character, I’m eager to see him wade through a slew of bad guys.
