Producer of August: Osage County, Harvey Weinstein, claims that The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence may be off Hollywood’s radar for a year. The 23-year-old actress, who has had a busy schedule filming movies, like American Hustle, X Men: Days of Future Past, and The Hunger Games series, deserves some rest, says the filmmaker. Weinstein spoke to the media, saying that Jennifer will be taking a year-long break, and that she has been too nice to people by agreeing to be a part of movies such as American Hustle as a favor, when she may have as well got some rest.
American Hustle director David O. Russell had earlier sparked a controversy when he described the filming schedule of Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games as “12 years of slavery”, taking a dig at other movies, for which he later apologized. Weinstein, explained that the actress was young when she signed up for the movie, and did not realize that it would be dominating a big portion of her life. Lawrence, who garnered the Best Supporting actress BAFTA for her American Hustle role last week, has also been nominated for an Academy Award for the second time after her Best Actress win for Silver Linings Playbook last year.
