Lupita Nyong’o is still recovering from the phenomenal appreciation she received for her 12 Years a Slave performance. The actress, who has received an Oscar nomination for supporting actress, for her role as Patsey, says she tries to keep her regimen in place, so she won’t have a hangover once all of this ends. Nyong’o was nowhere on Hollywood’s radar until Steve McQueen called her to play Patsey in the movie, which is a brutal 19th century tale on slavery. The actress plans to stay cool in the wake of her next release despite the mounting expectations. The action-thriller film titled Non-Stop is set to open on Feb 28, and will see the actress in a flight attendant’s role opposite actor Liam Neeson.
Nyong’o admits that she finds Hollywood awards extremely stressful, as she rolls back to the October award ceremony, which had other celebrated actors like Matthew McConaughey and Julia Roberts. However, it becomes a lot less daunting now, as there are a few familiar faces around, she quips. And, of course, her impeccable red-carpet fashion sense, from her emerald Christian Dior outfit at the BAFTAS to the Turquoise Gucci she had on at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, seems to have caught Hollywood’s attention as well.
We look forward to seeing more of Lupita Nyong’o in the future.
