Paramount Pictures and Indian Paintbrush will co-produce Academy Award®-winning writer/director Jason Reitman’s Labor Day. Academy Award®-winner Kate Winslet and Academy Award® nominee Josh Brolin will star. Indian Paintbrush’s Steven Rales and Mark Roybal will executive produce. Paramount Pictures will distribute.
The film will also be produced by Academy Award®-nominated producers Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith of Mr. Mudd Productions, along with Reitman and Helen Estabrook of Right of Way Films.
Labor Day is based on the Joyce Maynard novel that follows the story of an escaped convict (Josh Brolin) who takes refuge with a single mother (Kate Winslet) and her young son over the Labor Day weekend.
