Writer’s Paralysis

Not to be confused with writer’s block, writer’s paralysis is it’s own animal. It may very well be unique to me, actually. Writer’s paralysis has nothing to do with not knowing what to write or how to write it. It’s not necessarily caused by lack of inspiration, either. For me, it’s having too many things to write about.

While I admit that I’ve been riding this Miley Cyrus discussion for a few days, I know I really should be keeping up with my blog posts more consistently. And I do have a couple of posts I want to get done. So there’s blog maintenance. I’ve also just this morning gone to the movie theater to watch Iron Man. Not only do I want to write a post about theater etiquette, but a review of the movie is also due, among the thousand other movie reviews I’d like to have on my site. I also have a restaurant review that I owe to IE Weekly.

Compound those writing tasks with the tedium of daily life, like laundry, groceries and exercising, and I find myself escaping into video games, DVDs and napping. When I die, I think my biggest regret will be having put things off when I could have and should have gotten them done right away. Well, I guess that ends now.

I’ve added a couple of site enhancements. On the left sidebar I’ve installed a widget for Writing Jobs. I’m not sure if it takes into account the surfer’s IP address when it comes to displaying jobs. From what it gives me, I get posting from all over the United States. If you’re looking for a writing gig, let me know how it works for you.

I’ve also added a link just above the content area for donations. I’m pretty frugal, so an extra dollar could go a long way.

Thanks for reading.
