For five years Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has been leading the charge in promoting higher education among women and encourage their involvement within the male dominated gaming industry through the Gamers in Real Life (G.I.R.L.) Game Design Competition. Young women who would like to pursue the gaming industry are encouraged to enter submissions for this wonderful opportunity, but they need to hurry because the application deadline is March 29, 2012. The winning submission will receive a $10,000 scholarship to be applied towards tuition and other educational expenses, along with the opportunity for a paid internship of up to 10 weeks at SOE.
