When I was trying to be a professional Hollywood actor some 10 years ago, I remember one acting coach tell me that if my career is ever in a slump that I should go out and punch a cop in the face and get arrested, because the publicity will be great. Apparently, there’s no such thing as bad PR. Recently, Erykah Badu engaged in a bit of performance art that some will deem controversial.

Erykah Badu shed her clothes as she walked along a Dallas, Texas, sidewalk until she was nude and then fell near where President Kennedy was assassinated.
The result was a controversial video, released Saturday, for her song “Window Seat,” which Badu said was “shot guerrilla style” with no crew and in one take March 17.

Badu’s point was to challenge “groupthink” and encourage people to speak their minds even if their thoughts went against those they loved and/or feared.
